What is this?

This service evaluates golfers’ physical limitations and swing mechanics that may impact their golf swing efficiency, power and technical elements.  This “Body-Swing™” connection is often the cause of many nagging injuries and repetitive strains that come on with golf.  A healthy body, with appropriate mobility and stability, is clutch to keeping you on the course longer and enjoying your game.  Our certified Titleist Performance Institute expert will work with you and your golf swing coaches to make those swing adjustments easier and more reliable.

Who would benefit from this service?

This service is ideal for golfers of all abilities who are

  • Working with a golf coach
  • New to the greens
  • Experiencing recurring aches and pains while golfing
  • Recovering from other injuries or surgeries
  • Interested in longevity in the sport
  • Motivated to prevent injury and improve performance

What is Titleist Performance Institute?

TPI is the world’s leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing.  25 of the top 30 players in the world and 18 of the last 20 major championship winners are advised by a team of TPI professionals to keep them at the top of their game. TPI finds that constructing a golf support team with medical professionals, such as a Physical Therapists, enhances and ensures pleasure and success for golfers.  Click here to read more about TPI.  Learn which TPI swing characteristic(s) you may have that reduces your efficiency and performance.

What happens during a session?

You will meet with our certified TPI expert who will take you through a physical examination and functional swing assessment.   By taking you through a movement screen and assessment, we are able to target exercises and manual therapy that fit your body and get you back on the course better than ever. A personalized exercise program will be prescribed with handouts and/or videos. Additionally, collaboration with your golf pro can be arranged to maximize translation from the gym to the course.

What to bring and wear at your session?

Please wear comfortable clothes to “swing” in, shorts and shoes.  While we have clubs to swing with, you may want to bring your own iron, driver or wedge that may be of concern for the assessment.  Of note, during our swing assessment we will look at your raw swing without ball contact. If you are able to provide footage of your swing at a driving range and/or course from behind and from the side as illustrated below, we will be able to coach you through your swing pattern with ball address.
